FAQ
Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey with water, often with fruits, spices, grains, or hops added.
Mead is made from honey, while wine is from fermented grapes, and beer from malted grains. Each has distinct flavors based on their primary ingredients.
Melody Meads offers semi-dry, semi-sweet, and sweet varieties, along with flavored meads.
We partner with top meaderies such as Augustów Meadery, Mel de Petra, and Zuli. Soon we hope to present you with top quality Swiss mead producers.
Mead can be served chilled, at room temperature, or slightly warmed depending on the style and personal preference. Please contact us if you have questions concerning a specific mead that we have on offer.
Kind of… we offer session meads from various artisanal producers - session meads are a light, lower-alcohol mead (3%-7% ABV) designed for easy drinking - and we hope to have on offer various beers and ciders that have a focus on natural honey.
Of course, our meads are available for purchase through our online shop with delivery options across Switzerland and Lichtenstein.
Traditional meads made only from honey and water are gluten-free. However, some flavoured or spiced varieties may include additional ingredients that are not, so always check the product details.
Mead pairs well with a variety of foods including cheeses, grilled meats, spicy dishes, and desserts, depending on its sweetness.
